Crochet Easter Eggs

A great handmade Easter gift for the very young egg hunters.
This is one of my easiest and quickest projects yet one of the most memorable ones!
You need:
  • 1.75 mm crochet hook
  • Crochet Cotton tkt 10 (e.g. Anchor )
  • Two-part plastic Easter eggs filled with rice (amazon.co.uk)

Instructions:

Note: Use as many colours and change colours as you wish. When joining a new colour, work to last 2 loops on hook of last stitch. Draw new colour through 2 loops, then proceed in new colour.

Begin with 3 chains (ch) 3 Ch
1st round
2 Single crochet (Sc) in every chain (Ch) 6 Sc
2nd round
2 Sc in each Sc. 12 Sc
3rd round
2 Sc in each Sc. 24Sc
4th round
1 Sc in each  Sc. 24 Sc
5th round
1 Sc in next  2 Sc. 2 Sc in next Sc. 32 Sc
6th round
1 Sc in each  Sc. 32 Sc
7th round
1 Sc in next  3 Sc. 2 Sc in next Sc. 40 Sc
8th round
1 Sc in each  Sc. 40 Sc
9th round
1 Sc in next  4 Sc. 2 Sc in next Sc. 48 Sc
10th round
1 Sc in each  Sc. 48 Sc
11th round
1 Sc in next  7 Sc. 2 Sc in next Sc. 54 Sc
13th  - 25th round

Insert egg.
30th round
1 Sc in each Sc. 42 Sc
31st round

32nd round

34th round

37th round
2 Tog each Sc. 7 Sc

Fasten off. Thread end through remaining stitches and draw tightly.
