Super Berry Ice Cream Pops

Super Berry Ice Cream Pops - Healthy Desserts
One of your five-a-day!

Using frozen berries is cheaper and will allow your ice cream pops to freeze quicker.

We can't get enough of them and there's so much room for creativity. Watch this space!

Portions: 6-8 ice cream pops
Cooking time: 10 minutes preparation + min 2 hours freezer

What's in it: Definitely one of your five-a-day. It would be a very long list, so I won’t even start listing the important vitamins and minerals in this super healthy and delicious treat.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup mixed frozen berries (straight out of the freezer)
  • ½ cup quark
  • ½ cup natural smooth yoghurt
  • 3 tablespoons Strawberry jam or icing sugar for sweetening
Preparation:
  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl using a wooden spoon.
  2. Blend mixture using a hand blender.
  3. Add more sugar or jam according to taste
  4. You’ll get very nice ice cream that could be enjoyed straight away.
  5. Fill ice cream mixture into moulds and put in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

If you don't own ice cream moulds (yet), small yoghurt pots and plastic spoons will work just as well.

About this blog
This blog is about family cooking. It's important to get together for family meals. Here I'm posting healthy family recipes that kids and adults will love and make cooking for the family more fun. All my family recipes are well balanced and healthy family recipes but they can be tweaked for fussy eaters or spiced up for a more sophisticated adult palate. In addition to the healthy family recipes, I'm publishing some of my knitting and crochet patterns for toddler toys and accessories.
